Led by the incredibly talented founding member Kelly Boy DeLima, Kapena is a stunning group from Hawaii. Spanning two generations of membership, the band are known and loved around the globe for fusing reggae and pop with traditional island music. In 1985, the original trio of DeLima and brothers Teimoni and Tivaini Tatofi formed Kapena in the Kaimuki neighborhood of Honolulu.

They hit the scene running with their debut in 1986 with Satisfaction Guaranteed. This great song was recorded live at one of the group’s regular venues, Sparky's Lounge. The performance put Kapena on the map and paved the way for 1988's Kapena and More! record, which clinched the Na Hoku Hanohano Award for Best Hawaiian Contemporary Album, as well as Group of the Year. In the nineties, Kapena continued to be vets of the road and consistently delivered amazing new records, such as 1992’s Wild Heart and 1995’s Future Frontiers, as well as a couple of greatest-hits collections. At the turn of the new millennium, Kapena was gradually handed over to the next generation as the Tatofi brothers stepped down and siblings Kapena DeLima, Kalena DeLima, and Lilo DeLima joined forces with their father as full-time members, delivering a more contemporary influence. 2012's Kapena Is da Crew even offered some hip-hop tracks, while Lilo DeLima had a rock and reggae-oriented edge. In 2015, this world-class group celebrated their 30th anniversary in style with an epic two-disc anthology that saw singles from their early and more contemporary lineups. Following a bunch of songs that experimented with EDM and mainstream pop, the band returned to more traditional-sounding Palena 'Ole in 2017.

And now, it’s your unique chance to experience Kapena’s career-spanning hits live and up close at the iconic Waikiki Shell. What are you waiting for?! Book your tickets now to secure your spot to this must-see concert!
