Last year, Iration released a series of singles featured in their brand new album, Daytrippin. The songs, such as “IRL,” “New Style,” and “Day trippin’,” quickly became viral hits. In October, they dropped their latest single, “Comedown,” featuring the beloved songstress Claire Wright. To celebrate the release of their brand new effort, the band embarked on a massive 2023 tour. The Daytrippin outing delivered a series of solo shows on top of going on tour with Rebelution for the Good Vibes Summer Tour. Last year, Iration’s schedule was fully packed, to say the least. The latest album, released in October, took precedence as tracks made it into the fully loaded setlist. But Iration is sure to include a plethora of beloved fan favorites from their earlier releases.
Since 2007, Iration has consistently topped and charted in the top 5 of Billboard’s Top Reggae Albums chart. Their debut effort, No Time For Rest, was a self-release phenom, which made an incredible breakthrough on the charts, hitting number 1. Meanwhile, three of their subsequent release, Time Bomb, Automatic, and Hotting Up, also topped the Billboard’s Reggae chart.
This 2024, it’s about time that Iration brings their Daytrippin’ tour to Hawaii. The show is slated to pull out all the stops and deliver new and older songs. During their Daytrippin tour last year, Iration performed an average of 20 songs per show. The setlist featured their sensational original hits, plus some iconic covers. Moreover, their encore was a power-packed set that featured “IRL (In Real Life)” and a cover of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ “Mary Jane’s Last Dance.”
Iration has made the Waikiki Shell their unofficial home whenever they drop by Honolulu. The Tom Moffat Waikiki Shell has been a staple among music and entertainment lovers in Oahu. The outdoor concert grounds, built in 1956, were patterned after the famed Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California. The Waikiki Shell can accommodate up to 6,000 concert attendees, providing an outstanding backdrop of Hawaii’s skyline.
